ABOUT
Islamic sciences have a dynamic nature through their methodological skills. This dynamism allows them to address the whole aspects of man’s interaction with man, the physical environment, Allah, and creatures as well as to meet the latest challenges. IMU Faculty of Islamic Sciences aims to bring this dynamic characteristic of Islamic sciences into view. For this, considering today’s issues, it targets to investigate the vast knowledge of traditional sciences.
Setting off on building an Islamic sciences education that discusses the traditional scientific background in dept, is responsive to the current debates of the world of science and thought, and brings out the dynamic nature of the Islamic sciences, our faculty is composed of the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Islamic Philosophy and History of Religions, Islamic History, and Islamic-Turkish Literature. Under these departments, there are the divisions of Qur’anic Exegesis (Tafsir), Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence, Kalam and Schools of Islamic Creed, Sufi Studies, Prophetic Biography and Islamic History, Arabic Language and Rhetoric, Science of Qur’anic Recitation, History of Religions, Islamic Philosophy, Islamic-Turkish Literature.
